Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment

RevHub is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including those with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards.

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as required by the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Accessibility Measures Taken

  • Skip-to-content links on every page to support keyboard and screen reader navigation.
  • All interactive elements are keyboard navigable with visible focus indicators.
  • All form inputs have associated <label> elements and descriptive ARIA attributes.
  • Error messages are announced via role="alert" and aria-live regions.
  • Images that convey information have descriptive alt text; decorative images use aria-hidden="true".
  • Landmark roles (main, header, nav, footer) are used throughout.
  • Colour contrast meets or exceeds WCAG AA minimums (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
  • Motion is reduced for users who prefer it via prefers-reduced-motion media query.
  • Minimum touch target sizes of 44×44px are enforced for interactive elements.
  • A built-in reading accessibility toolbar is available in revision sessions, offering:
    • Adjustable text size (S / M / L / XL)
    • 13 text colour options including high-contrast combinations
    • 4 font styles including a dyslexia-friendly option
    • 15 background colour options including pastel and dark modes
  • Text-to-speech playback available for all revision explainer content.
  • The site uses semantic HTML5 elements for clear document structure.
  • Pages have unique, descriptive <title> elements and a lang attribute set to en.

Known Limitations

We are aware of the following areas where accessibility improvements are still in progress:

  • Some third-party embedded content (e.g. YouTube videos) may not fully meet WCAG AA requirements — this is outside our direct control.
  • Complex data visualisations (e.g. progress charts) currently rely on colour alone to convey meaning. We plan to add text-based alternatives.
  • Some animated components may be distracting for users with vestibular disorders, even with reduced-motion settings — we are reviewing these.

Technical Specification

RevHub relies on the following technologies for conformance with WCAG 2.2:

  • HTML5
  • CSS3 (including prefers-reduced-motion and prefers-color-scheme)
  • WAI-ARIA 1.2
  • JavaScript (React)
